Background

I have graduated as M.Sc.:

- Electrical Engineering from “Gh.Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, in 1986.

- Mathematics from “A.I.Cuza” University of Iaşi, Romania, in 1993

From 1986-1989 I was employed as Project Engineer at „Land Works Execution and Exploitation Industry”, Iaşi, and from 1989-1992 as Research Engineer at „Building-Resistance National Research Institute”, Iaşi, Romania. I became assistant professor in 1992, lecturer in 1994 and associate professor in 2002 at the Electrical Engineering Faculty of Iaşi, Department of Energy Utilization, Electrical Drives and Industrial Automation.

I get the Ph.D. degree in 2001 with the thesis entitled "One-Axis Hybrid Magnetic Bearing in Applications to Flywheel Energy Storage Systems " at “Gh.Asachi” Technical University of Iasi.

I was Research Doctoral Student at “Laboratoire d’Electrotechnique de Grenoble”, Grenoble, France, in 1998 and I followed a training module in Building Maintenance at “Université d’Angers”, Angers, France, in 1996 and 1997.

Interests

My main research areas are magnetic bearings, nonlinear control, electric lighting, efficient use of the electric energy, optimal design of electric machine.
